Michael D. Arena is an associate attorney at Cook, Craig, & Francuzenko, PLLC. His practice concentrates on employment law, commercial litigation, civil rights law, and all phases of general civil litigation. Mr. Arena is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.
Mr. Arena began his legal career with a regional Virginia civil litigation firm in Norfolk, Virginia, defending health care professionals, corporations, and insurers in a wide variety of complex medical malpractice, products liability, and commercial disputes. Upon relocating to Northern Virginia with his wife, Mr. Arena gained substantial litigation experience representing employers and insurers in workers’ compensation and employer liability matters throughout the Commonwealth.
Mr. Arena received his B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo, where he graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He received his Juris Doctor degree from William and Mary Law School, where he was the recipient of the 2014 Gambrell Professionalism Award and the 2014 Legal Practice Scholar Award for Excellence in Legal Writing and Research, Professional Responsibility, and Lawyering Skills. He is a member of the Virginia Bar Association Labor and Employment Section as well as the Fairfax Bar Association.
