Ms. Williams is originally from San Diego, California where she obtained both a B.S. and a B.A. degree from San Diego State University in 1986. After spending several years in the private business sector, she attended California Western School of Law, graduating in 1991.
Ms. Williams spent the first seven years of her legal career in San Diego, California, where she represented more than 400 clients in a wide range of legal matters, including personal injury, medical malpractice, contract disputes, and wrongful banking practices. It was during these initial years in California that she honed her negotiation and litigation skills.
In 1999, she relocated to Northern Virginia and focused her practice on family law issues of divorce, custody and visitation, child support, spousal support (alimony), and equitable distribution of property.
Immediately after passing the Virginia Bar in 1999, Ms. Williams joined McDowell and Associates where she learned all aspects of family law. She joined The Duff Law Firm in June 2004, where she continued to handle all aspects of family law matters, and became a Principal of the Firm in February 2009.
On October 1, 2016, Ms. Williams opened her practice, The Law Office of Alanna Williams, PLLC. She joined Cook Craig and Francuzenko as a Principal in April 2020.
