Estate and Trust Planning
Are you subject to probate? Do you know what probate is and how to avoid it? Do you have minor children? If so, have you named a guardian for them in the event that their parents were to pass away? How do you own your assets and have you named a beneficiary for any or all of your assets? Will you rely on a Will? A trust? What's the difference? Or would you rather just let state law decide how your assets are distributed, and by whom, when you die? Have you executed a will or trust that you downloaded got online? If so, are you sure that it is valid and will achieve your desires? Do you have a will or trust already that was prepared years ago? Does it still meet your needs?
These are just some of the many questions we address when working with our clients in preparing their Estate Plan. We often work with our client's financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to craft the plan that they want. As we say in our office: "This is your plan. You don't sign it unless and until you're happy." Please contact us at 703-865-7480 so we may be able to assist you with your estate and trust planning needs.
